Itinerary

Upon landing at Paro International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our representative from Top Most Vacation. Our representative will be there to receive you right outside the terminal building, holding a sign with your name for easy recognition. From there, we will assist you with your luggage and transport you to your hotel. Exploring Paro: You can start exploring some of Paro’s cultural landmarks. Visit the National Museum, housed in an old watchtower, which offers a great introduction to Bhutan’s history and cultural heritage. Another must-see is the Rinpung Dzong, a fortress that serves both as a religious and administrative center, beautifully illustrating Bhutanese architecture and traditions. Spend your evening relaxing and enjoying the amenities at your hotel, preparing for the start of your trek the next day.

Altitude: 2280 m, Drive Time: 30mins (12kms each way) Hiking Time: 4 to 6 hours - 4 miles/6.5 km After an early breakfast we will visit Kichu Lhakang one of the oldest and most beautiful temples of Bhutan. We then drive north of Paro a short distance to begin our hike to the Tigers Nest, probably Bhutan's most famous landmark. The hike up to the monastery goes through a beautiful pine forest and you can catch several glimpses of the Tigers Nest (almost 900m above you). It's a good hike but well worth the effort and we will stop for lunch half way. The trail takes you directly to this incredible monastery which clings to the edge of a sheer rock cliff that plunges 900 meters into the valley below. The Tiger's Nest was built in 1692 and still functions today despite the daily visits by numerous tourists. Dinner and overnight at the Hotel in Paro.

Morning Departure: After an early breakfast in Paro, you’ll embark on a scenic drive to Haa via the Chele La pass. This route offers stunning panoramic views and, on a clear day, you might even see the sacred Mt. Jomolhari. The drive to Haa takes approximately 2 to 3 hours, winding through lush forests and alpine scenery, providing an excellent preview of the landscapes you'll explore more deeply on foot. Arrival in Haa Valley: Upon reaching Haa, you'll find a small, tranquil valley that has only recently opened to tourism. Haa retains an air of untouched beauty and tradition, spared from the usual tourist paths. Take a moment to enjoy the serenity and beauty of the valley, often dotted with traditional farmhouses and ancient temples. Starting the Trek to Sagala: From Haa, you'll begin your trek to Sagala. This part of the trek introduces you to the alpine meadows and dense coniferous woods, typical of the region’s natural beauty. The trek to Sagala is moderately challenging, with an ascent to an altitude of 3,890 meters. You will cover this segment in about 3 to 4 hours, depending on your pace and how often you stop to enjoy the stunning views and capture photos. Sagala Pass: Reaching Sagala Pass is a highlight of the day. The pass offers expansive views of the Haa Valley to one side and the stark drop to the Paro Valley on the other. It's a magnificent spot that epitomizes the rugged, untouched beauty of Bhutan. The area is also known for its unique flora and fauna, and you might spot high-altitude birds and other wildlife. Descent and Drive to Thimphu: After spending some time at the Chele Pass, you will begin your descent. The trail down can be steep and requires careful footing. This drive marks a transition from the remote wilderness back to urban civilization, providing a comfortable end to a vigorous day of trekking. Arrival in Thimphu: In Thimphu, you will check into a hotel where you can enjoy modern amenities and a much-deserved rest. The evening can be spent exploring some of Thimphu’s cultural sites if time and energy permit, or simply relaxing and enjoying the comforts of your hotel.
